Radio 2's 500 Words short story writing competition culminated with the announcement of the winning stories at the Hay Festival earlier this week.

They received just under 120,000 stories, and six children were awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in each category. Their work was voiced by top actors and celebrities and is available, along with lots of other useful classroom resources, on the 500 Words website.
