To celebrate the 155th anniversary of E Nesbit's birthday, on Thursday 9 May Radio 2's Simon Mayo will host Jacqueline Wilson's Big Picnic, and pupils across the country are invited to join in.

Jacqueline will talk about E Nesbit's life and her novel Five Children and It (1902), will read from her own tribute novel Four Children and It (2012), and about actual and fictional picnic food. Broadcast between 11.30-12.15 from the grounds of Well Hall in Eltham, the event will end with a grand picnic and Puffin Virtually Live will be encouraging pupils to bring in picnic food to share with their class mates at the end of the event.
