The Henrietta Branford Writing Competition for children is in its 20th year and we would like to invite you to promote this to the children in your school, as many of you have done in previous years.

We have had quite a few winners from Hampshire Schools – from Wicor Primary in Portchester, The Butts in Alton and Priestlands in Lymington to name but three.

The six lucky winners are invited to the Branford Boase Award ceremony in London in July, where they will receive their prizes, which is the collection of the books from the BBA shortlist and the opportunity to meet authors and editors of the shortlisted books and some of our previous  winners. Each child will receive up to £150 towards their travel. Entry to the competition is completely free.

The competition is now open and all they have to do is complete the story in 1000 words or fewer started by Mitch Johnson, last year’s BBA winner which is on the website:  http://www.branfordboaseaward.org.uk/HBWC/HBWC_current/henriettabranfo1.html

There is also a poster available for download.

All details are on the website. Closing date is April 26th 2019
