Meet the Author
Jeff Norton
Hampshire School Library Service and Hayling Island Bookshop are pleased to announce that author Jeff Norton will be visiting Hampshire in January. This is to promote his new series and as such is FREE to subscribing schools who wish to attend. It is suitable for Years 5 & 6. Places will be limited.
Tuesday 22nd January 2019 – Merdon Junior School, Chandlers Ford at 10am
St Francis C of E Primary School, Valley Park at 1.30pm
A highly entertaining series with themes of diversity, friendship, teamwork and perseverance, ALIENATED features a wild mix of characters thrown together in Groom Lake High, a school like no other.
A self-confessed reluctant young reader, Norton is now passionate about the power of storytelling to inspire people and influence change, saying “we live in an increasingly fractured society and I believe that reading is the very best brain-training for developing the empathy our world so desperately needs. But it’s imperative to make reading fun, so I wrote ALIENATED to be as fun and funny as films like GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY and MEN IN BLACK in order to deliver the themes of inclusion and diversity via an unforgettable roller coaster ride.”
If you wish to attend, please email sls.events@hants.gov.uk stating which venue and how many children you wish to bring.
There will be a book signing session after each event and Hayling Island Bookshop will be selling copies of Jeff’s book at each event. The cost will be £6.00 per book.
