The BBC has unveiled the BBC micro:bit, a pocket-sized codeable computer with motion detection, a built-in compass and Bluetooth technology, which is available free to every child in year 7 or equivalent across the UK.
Students in the new year 7 or equivalent are eligible to receive a micro:bit once their school has been registered.
The scheme aims to inspire young people to get creative with digital and develop core skills in science, technology and engineering. The accompanying website has lots of guides and resources to help you get started with your micro:bit.
