Jacqueline Wilson is to hold two events in one day with The Hayling Island Bookshop in Gosport in October: please feel free to advertise these events to your pupils.
Both events will be held on Saturday 17 October and will be fully ticketed public events, with tickets being sold only by The Hayling Island Bookshop from Tuesday 2nd September. See www.haylingislandbookshop.co.uk for full details. Included in the price is a copy of Little Stars, Jacqueline's latest book.
The morning event will run from 11.30am-12.30pm at Bay House School, Alverstoke, and take the form of a talk and Q&A with Jacqueline for up to 350 children. The afternoon event is a tea party at The Bakery, Royal Clarence Yard, for just 80 children and takes place between 3-5pm.
NO MORE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED NOW
In addition, Colin Teford, Events Manager for The Hayling Island Bookshop, has asked if any of our Librarians would like to volunteer to help as "hall monitors" in the Main Hall while the audience is arriving and waiting for the event to start. About 4/5 volunteers (not pupils, please!) for the morning event and 4 for the afternoon event are needed.
Volunteers will each receive a free copy of Jacky's new book Little Stars, which is the subject of the tour. Each book will have a preprinted signed bookplate. Assuming timings allow, volunteers will have a few moments to meet Jacky after her talk if they would like to.
If you would like to volunteer to help at the event, please contact Colin Telford directly on his mobile 07880 986624.
