The winner of our first ever Pupil Librarian of the Year has been announced.
The overall winner, as selected by Kathryn Tooley (SLS Manager) from the shortlist put together by the working party, was Callum Blithe from Dogmersfield Primary.
Callum was chosen as the winner because of his enthusiasm and commitment to the job but also because of his knowledge of books and how he uses this to help other pupils to find good reads, thus instilling a love of reading in others.
Callum will receive a token for £20, while his school will have the opportunity to purchase £250 of new books for their library either through the School Library Service Bookshop or, by arrangement, through Petranet. The school will also be sent a certificate for Callum and one for the school to display. Callum is a worthy winner for the primary section.
The runner up is Harry Smallbones from Harrow Way Community School (who won the secondary section). He will receive a token for £10 and his school will be sent £50 worth of new books for their library.
The runner up in the secondary category was Nathan Bryce from Robert Mays’s School, and Daniel Crisp from St Francis C of E Primary School was the runner up in the primary category.
