We are delighted to announce that the winner of the Hampshire Information Book Award for 2019 is:

Joan Procter, Dragon Doctor – The Woman Who Loved Reptiles written by Patricia Valdez and illustrated by Felicita Sala. 

Over 4,500 pupils from 80 Schools, across Hampshire took part in the award but there were only a handful of votes separating the winner in the final vote count.  Pupils have spent the last term reading, discussing, exploring, evaluating and, best of all, thoroughly enjoying the five shortlisted, quality information books.  

Many congratulations to Patricia Valdez and Felicita Sala and our commiserations to the other celebrated authors and illustrators whose work was also shortlisted in this closely run award.
