Promoting Reading in the Digital Age: Strategies for meeting the challenges of reading within today’s visual world
Hampshire SLS's Primary Conference is taking place in Basingstoke on Thursday 25 and Shirrell Heath on Friday 26 January 2017.
Our speakers are Bev Humphrey, a literacy, school libraries and technology consultant, and Neal Layton, author and illustrator of many of his own books including The Tree, The Story of Everything and Oscar and Arabella, as well as illustrating Stanley’s Stick for John Hegley and the Emily Brown books for Cressida Cowell.
The course will explore a range of strategies that can be employed to embed new technologies into the school library and the school’s wider reading community. Technology is moving fast and young people as Digital Natives are open to new learning opportunities. Schools and school libraries need to harness this knowledge to enthuse pupils about reading and writing for pleasure.
Please find the conference flyer and booking details on our Training pages.
