Registration to take part in the Hampshire Book Award is now open and will close on Friday 29 January. You will find the application form on our HBA 2016 page.

Shortlisting for the Hampshire Book Award 2016 for Year 8s will be taking place at the beginning of February. We have already received a good number of suggestions from you  but will be happy to receive more.

The criteria for the award are

• Fiction
• Published in paperback – for the first time in the UK – in the previous academic year (1 September 2014 to 31 August 2015)
• Categorised as CF (Children's Fiction) or T/11Up (T+/14-19 titles are not eligible)
• Stories which 'stand alone' - sequels and books in series are not eligible
